Creed was best known for their post-grunge music in the 90s and early 2000s, including songs such as "With Arms Wide Open" and "Young Grow Old". They won almost every award available to rock groups during that era; yet were one of the biggest bands of that decade as a whole. Unfortunately however, Creed experienced much controversy and issues during its time together; most notable being frontman Scott Stapp's struggles with drugs and alcohol which caused its eventual breakup in 2004; its remaining members continued making music as Alter Bridge - another successful alternative rock band!

People may initially react negatively to Creed reuniting, but the band deserves another listen. Creed created an impressive array of first-rate schlock-rock and was unfairly maligned by the music industry; not because Creed themselves weren't good - rather because so much subpar and overplayed material made its way onto their market.

Creed was formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 1993 and initially comprised lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist/vocalist Mark Tremonti, and bassist Brian Marshall. Their initial albums (My Own Prison and Human Clay) received mixed critical acclaim but their third record, Weathered was commercially successful with "With Arms Wide Open" becoming a Billboard Hot 100 number one single; also receiving gold certification from Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

After the release of their album, Damageplan embarked on an extensive tour, featuring former members from Pantera and Damageplan as guest drummers - it would mark their last performance as four-piece before disbanding in 2004.

Reunited in 2009 and released the album Full Circle at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, this studio album featured bassist Brian Marshall's return and was produced by Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy.

Creed has sold over 28 million records in the US alone and 53 million records globally, ranking them second for Christian band sales of all time and ninth in terms of musical acts of the 2000s. Creed have won several awards such as American Music Award Favorite Hard Rock/Metal Artist and Grammy Award Best Rock Song while nominated for World Music Award nomination. They have appeared on television programs such as Tonight Show with Jay Leno and American Idol; touring alongside artists such as Elton John, Metallica, The Who and Metallica; as well as nominated three MTV Video Music Awards of which one was won!
