Grant Kwiecinski made a lane that did not really exist and then lived in it: live saxophone over electronic funk, a stage show that looks like a cartoon exploded in a good way, a fan base that will follow a sunset set and a 1 a.m. tent with the same patience. If you only know the festival clip, the headline night is longer, weirder, and better. A Chicago room (Ramova, when it is on the board) is a floor-and-reserved map. Red Rocks is Morrison, Colorado — not Denver, not Ball Arena, a hike and a different bag list. Nashville Fairgrounds is a field. They are all GRiZ. They are not the same night.
